RUSSEL WRIGHT
Chest of Drawers for
"The American Way"
This piece of furniture designed by Russel Wright for The American Way in 1940. A group of Designers got together in order to create Good Modern Furniture for the public.
The company lasted only one year and furniture made by this company is scarce. I believe it is Maple which Wright liked to work with.
Most of the original label is still attached on reverse. Overall in very good condition with one tiny dent at top end. The bottoms of drawers are also cradled showing rippling.
At some point I think it might have been painted and refinished as there are paint drips on the back.
I also have a stack of Back Cloth, six large panels plus more. Drapes are $200.00 for all.
