Description

Boxer - Large - Young - Female - Dog - Hope
Description
Hope Hope had surgery on both knees in February 2009 for luxating patellas. Dr. John Mauterer at the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center cleared her for normal activities. Up until the time Hope needed surgery, she loved attending doggy day care at Puppy Love. Hope loves all dogs, big & small! She especially loves her 7 lb foster sibling. Hope is ~ 19 months old. She weighs 44 lbs. She was rescued with her sister from New Orleans East at four months old. Their stomachs were swollen from malnutrition, not worms! They were so pitiful. Hope is the biggest cuddler now. She is a huge kisser. She wants to kiss nonstop, whether it is a person or another dog. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She loves playing with puppies. She's very gentle with them. She loves children. She gets so excited when she sees children. She loves to run in the yard. She is crate trained & house trained. When she's at home, she follows you around. She wants constant companionship. Hope rides well in the car. She curls up in the front seat. Hope can by shy at times due to her horrible start. Going to doggy day care has helped her socialization. She's doing much better now, but is still a little timid at new places, but you'd never guess her history from her confidence. She is up to date on flea prevention, HW Prevention, worming, & shots. She has been spayed and microchipped. Hope Hope is looking for a home that will understand her shyness & keep a close eye on her knees. She has lots of energy & loves to play nonstop but needs someone with experience with canine orthopedic issues so they will know when to limit her activities. Hope spent a week recently in a foster home and did wonderful. She was very shy at first but warmed up really fast including to strangers. Hope did great on walks on St Charles Ave. This was a big step for Hope with all the noises including the noisy street cars. Hope didn have an accident once in the house and even got along with the cat. Hope spent most of the time curled up on the couch with her foster. Hope is looking for a home of her own finally. Hope has spent 14 months in a foster home and doesn understand why all her buddies leave her and she stays. Hope Hope just graduated from Beginner Obedience School at Puppy Love. She knows come for, sit, stay, down, and heel.
